Custom Gunite pools are very durable. Among the different types of in-ground pools available today, Gunite pools last the longest and have the best warranties.

A Gunite swimming pool can take between 4 to 6 weeks for completion. The reason this may seem long when compared with other inground pool options is due to the time it takes to cure or set the Gunite. Proper curing is important so the gunite hydrates and reaches the designed compression strength.

Since the surface of gunite pools is porous, it’s important to use additional chemicals and maintenance to prevent algae.

Saltwater chlorinators are perfectly safe for gunite pools.

Gunite swimming pools are highly durable and can be created in just about any shape. They don’t require wooden frameworks to hold the shape of the pool basin. Custom Gunite pools have become very popular lately, and it’s easy to see why.

Unlike concrete, when building gunite pools, you can stop and start without any problems, which will help give a smoother finish.

Always clean the filter. Make sure there are no leaks. Use the right pool chemicals. Keep accurate water levels.

Unlike fiberglass pools, gunite pools can be made on-site which allows for more flexibility and is easier to install. Gunite pools are incredibly durable and do not require a liner. This allows the pool to look better and retain its shape over time.

A fiberglass pool is expected to last up to more than 25 years with proper care and maintenance.

Fiberglass swimming pools are very compatible with salt water systems. If you are using a vinyl liner pool, you must be careful as those pools tend to have metal parts or connections which salt will eat through and corrode.

Regularly remove debris and be careful with cleaning products. Watch out for stains and maintain fibreglass pool filters and chemical balance.

During peak season, it is recommended that you shock your pool once per week. Remember though, how often will also depend on how many people use the poos, whether they shower before entering or not, and the weather (rain dilutes the water and makes shock necessary).

Gunite pools are custom-built on-site and can be designed in a way that best fits with your existing landscape design. While the gunite pool building process takes longer than a fiberglass pool installation, this construction process allows for more flexibility in shape, size, and depth.

It generally takes between three and 12 weeks to install a concrete pool. That’s longer than other types, but concrete is considered the strongest, most durable type of pool. And unlike other in-ground pools, existing concrete pools can be rebuilt, refinished, enlarged, or updated.

For a family of 8 people, a pool size of 18 by 36 feet is adequate. Even if you all decide to swim at the same time, there will be enough space for everyone. A rectangular shape is the best choice for this size of the pool. If there are six or less in your family, a pool size of 16 by 32 feet will be sufficient.

Saltwater Pools are far more stable than chlorine pools. It requires less maintenance and fewer chemical testing and adding tasks.
